About EKF

New ministry for EKF – same service for Danish companies

EKF’s guardian authority is now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and EKF will be under the responsibilities of Nick Hækkerup, Minister for Trade and European Affairs.  Until now EKF’s guardian authority was the Ministry of Business and Growth.
”It is not likely to make any difference at all for Danish export companies and banks in their daily business dealings with EKF”, says Anette Eberhard, CEO at EKF. ”EKF will also be here tomorrow to help Danish companies obtain security for their payments and finance operations and ongoing transactions on exactly the same terms as today.”

However, the change will bring EKF closer to a number of important partners in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, especially the Trade Council and Danida.

Last year EKF and the Trade Council launched a partnership which means that financial advisors are now available in Moscow, Beijing, Bangkok, Pretoria, Warsaw, Istanbul and Sao Paulo.

EKF will remain an independent administrative unit under the Danish state. The management of EKF is undertaken by a Board of Directors. In future the Board of Directors will be appointed by the Minister for Trade and European Affairs.
