CSR and environment

At EKF, CSR is about contributing to economic and environmental sustainability as well as  responsibility towards people. CSR is a collective term covering all our efforts with regard to the above-mentioned areas.

Under the section “CSR/Environment” you can find more information about our approach to CSR which is based on the concept of the triple bottom line and international principles such as the UN Global Compact.

Under the section Environment in the menu option to the left, you will find information about the environmental and social impacts which we look into when assessing a project. The scope and the nature of the assessment depend on the project´s environmental and social impacts.

Our environmental policy is based on five principles:

- EKF´s policy for evaluation of environmental and social impacts follows the rules and regulations agreed upon by the OECD countries.

- EKF considers the evaluation of environmental and social impacts to be an integral part of the risk analysis.

- EKF is working for a common international understanding of environmental and social issues as well as harmonised rules within e.g. the OECD, partly to make sure that EKF’s environ-mental and social impact assessment policy does not distort competition.

- EKF strives for a constructive cooperation between supplier, financial institution, buyer and buyer's country.

- EKF respects business confidentiality – also in individual projects involving the export credit agencies of other countries.

EKF has adopted the principles of the UN Global Compact

EKF´s work with CSR is based on a set of international rules outlined in the OECD recommendations and the Equator Principles. You can obtain more information regarding these rules under the relevant menu options.

A list of current projects which have been made publicly available can be found under the section Category A projects.

EKF has adopted a policy of non-bribery to ensure that bribery or corruption does not occur in the business transactions guaranteed by EKF. Read more about this under the menu option: Anti-bribery.
